In this paper a new antenna configuration made by a multifeed illuminated reflectarray is considered and a new procedure to the design of power pattern shaped beam reflectarrays is introduced. Given the design specifications on each far-field power pattern to be radiated (by means of suitably defined “masks”), the goal of the synthesis algorithm will be the determination of the control voltage of the diodes of each radiating element as well as the excitations of the feed elements. The results referring to a new synthesis procedure employing a multi-step strategy, embedding an efficient global optimization technique, are presented.

Abstract
